Here Pause Awhile…
Welcome!
From 1775, when Virginia was among the first to send her young men to help fill the ranks of the Continental Army, right up to the present-day conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, Vinton and Roanoke County families have a proud tradition of answering our nation’s call to duty. With this tradition in mind, The High Ground Monument is dedicated to the memory of those who have served and those who continue to serve in our country’s Armed Forces.
Join the celebration!
June 14, 2012 will mark one full year since our big Dedication ceremony, and we’d like to invite you to join us as we commemorate the event. We’ll have music by Chris Monroe from Vinton Baptist Church, a military color guard presentation, and a speech by Marine First Sargent Mike Honaker. The event starts at 11AM, and light refreshments will be served.
Keepsake Photos and DVDs
Keepsake photos and the DVD Video presentation from our opening day ceremony are both available for purchase. They make wonderful gifts, and are a great way to help insure the continued success of our High Ground Monument. Keepsake Photos are only $5, and Keepsake DVDs are $10 (plus $2 shipping and handling) .
