From 1775, when our state was among the first to send young men to help fill the ranks of George Washington’s Continental Army, right up to the present-day conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, Vinton and Roanoke County families have a proud tradition of answering our nation’s call to duty. With this tradition in mind, The Vinton-Roanoke County Veterans Monument is dedicated to the memory of those who have served and those who continue to serve in our country’s Armed Forces.
