From 1775, when Virginia was among the first to send her young men to help fill the ranks of George Washington's Continental Army, to present-day conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, Vinton and Roanoke County families have a proud tradition of answering our nation's call to duty. With this tradition in mind, The Vinton-Roanoke County Veterans Monument is dedicated to the memory of those who have served and those who continue to serve in our country's Armed Forces.

First conceived in 2006, The Veteran's Monument is closer than ever to becoming a reality - but we need your help. Please consider making a donation to the Veteran's Monument or purchasing a Commemorative Paver to honor a veteran who made a difference in your life.

"The Veterans Monument will be a constant reminder of those who serve and those who have served. We will never forget the importance of freedom and those results that help our nation grow and prosper. We must continue these efforts to remember the past for a better future." Capt. Norman J. Jasper Jr, USMC
